Meet the Team

James has an extensive background in sales, having worked for several UK and European luxury brands, including Moët & Chandon, Jaguar and Rolls Royce. He’s also worked as a commercial property analyst, as well as a sales and lettings manager in the City of London.
Raised and educated in Bury St Edmunds, his exceptional local knowledge and passion for architecture and historic buildings led him to establish Whatley Lane in Bury St Edmunds.

Outside of work, James has a passion for country pursuits, wine harvesting, marathon running, and art.

Christopher has over 40 years of senior management experience, from automotive and aerospace, to recruitment and property industries. He has spearheaded the buyout, development and restructuring of several multi-million-pound businesses. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and the Institute of Directors, Companion of the Chartered Management Institute, and a Freeman of the City of London and past master of the Worshipful Company of Scientific Instrument Makers..

He lives in Suffolk with his wife, two dogs and cat. His interests include reading, shooting, classic cars, property investment, and fine dining.

With over 20 years of experience in a variety of roles and having owned and operated her own property management company, including managing a sporting estate in Scotland, Debbie oversees the lettings side of the business. An experienced and qualified bookkeeper, exacting compliance is her strength and executed diligently much to the satisfaction of our landlords– from organising landlord annual accounts through to perdiodic inspections.

Away from work, Debbie lovingly dotes on her two Chihuahuas, Cosmo and Pixie, enjoys long walks, reading and spending time with her two daughters and grandchildren.

Emily has a background in communications and PR, specialising in lifestyle editorials and features writing while having established her own insurance brokerage business in recent years.  With BA (Hons) in Journalism and a qualified English teacher to foreign students, Emily has a natural flair for customer relations and spearheads our sales and lettings negotiations, having successfully concluded on various town and country transactions.

Outside of work, Emily enjoys horse-riding, regularly exercising polo ponies, and all things outdoors where she is a resident in a picturesque West Suffolk village with her son.

Holly is a former United States Air Force (USAF) member whose partner’s active duty service has now brought them back to West Suffolk. With a degree in Inter-cultural Communications, Holly has a breadth of experience and interpersonal skills across various industries, from Education and Social Media Management to Property investments. With her love of Bury St. Edmunds and passion for architecture and interior design, Holly leads on the business’ marketing endeavors and negotiations.

In her spare time, she enjoys all things musical theatre and food related, and lives in town with her husband and three children.

A former surveyor with Ordnance Survey and District Councillor for West Suffolk specialising in rural affairs, planning and listed buildings, Peter conducts many of our viewings and offers an experienced, knowledgeable and friendly service to our prospective buyers and tenants.He was the lead on the £23m West Suffolk Operational Hub to solve sustainable waste management in the neighbourhood.

A keen sportsman and former yachtsman, having grown up on the Isle of Wight, Peter also enjoys point-to-point and various country pursuits living in an idyllic south Suffolk village where he raised his family.
