James established the boutique Bury St. Edmunds estate agency with notable achievements including the sale of The Northgate Boutique Hotel and Sir John Soane and James Oakes blue plaque Georgian gem on
Guildhall Street – arguably one of the finest townhouses here. Also developing a robust lettings portfolio
of high-end buy-to-let properties, while concluding various country house sales in the West Suffolk area.
He is now on a focused on a tree planting mission of mangroves in Madagascar in a bid to restore Mother Nature with proceeds from each successful property transaction. The aim is to not only be the best estate agent in Bury St Edmunds, but also the most sustainable estate agency.
Prior to joining Whatley Lane, James worked for several luxury brands in the UK and Europe, including Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Jaguar and Moët & Chandon. He also worked as a commercial property analyst for an Islamic investment bank in the City and as a sales and lettings manager at an independent agency in the fast-paced residential London Docklands and corporate relocation markets.
